Schematic of the effect of the pinhole placed after the sample. The pinhole acts as a collimator that blocks the scattering from a diamond anvil (dashed lines) and extracts the signal of interest scattered from the sample. Scattered photons produced inside the diamond can still impinge on the analyzer, which is indicated by the dotted line, but it is negligible in the obtained spectra.  [article HTML]
