Rings, analogous to those shown in Fig. 6[link], but involving C(β)—H/CO and C(α)—H/CO fragments acting as donor/acceptor groups: (a) α-hydroxy­amide⋯C(β)—H/CO, R22(10) pattern (HN22); (b) α-hydroxy­amide⋯C(α)—H/CO R22(9) pattern (HN12); (c) α-hydroxyamide⋯C(α)—H/CO, R22(9) pattern (HOM3). Note the change of conformation, from a to s, accompanying the replacement of a secondary by a tertiary α-hydroxyamide, and connected with it a change of the α-hydroxyl function from acceptor (b) to donor (c).
