[001] projection of the Ba2TiGe2O8 average crystal structure (after Iijima et al., 1981BB10): (a) the interconnection of TiO5 pyramids and Ge2O7 pyrogermanate groups underlines the structure of the sheet silicate; (b) displacement ellipsoids (95% probability level), particularly of O atoms, were found to be highly anisotropic.
