`Theoretical' relationships of π-bond coooperativity and anticooperativity in the fusion of two enolone and/or enaminone fragments forming intramolecular R3-RAHB rings. Numbering as 1–4 the covalent bonds, four different junctions ([4,4′], [2,2′], [3,2′] and [2,3′]) are possible, each having the hydrogen bonds in different positions. Schemes drawn in bold correspond to patterns actually found in practice.
