Parts of the crystal structure of (XII) showing the formation of three distinct chain motifs: (a) a C(8) chain parallel to [101], where the atoms marked with an asterisk (*) or a hash (#) are at the symmetry positions ([-{1\over 2}+ x, {1\over 2} - y, -{1\over 2} + z]) and ([{1\over 2} + x, {1\over 2} - y, {1\over 2} + z]), respectively; (b) a C(4) chain parallel to [001], where the atoms marked with an asterisk (*) or a hash (#) are at the symmetry positions ([x, 1 - y, {1\over 2} + z]) and (x, [1 - y, -{1\over 2} + z]), respectively; (c) a stereoview of a C22(12) chain parallel to [110]. In each case the H atoms bonded to C atoms have been omitted.
