Subsequent cluster shells around a central TM₄ atom starts with an icosahedron (a) followed by an icosidodecahedron (b), then a polyhedron with 32 vertices (c) and finally a polyhedron 20 Å in diameter (d), referred to in the text as the building block. The last polyhedron (e) with 24.6 Å can be constructed, but it was not included in the subsequent series.
