LEED patterns of (a) clean Ag(001) and (b) CoFe₂O₄/Ag(001). Both were recorded with an electron-beam energy of 75 eV. The ferrite film grows (001) oriented and exhibits a (3 × 1) surface reconstruction. The Ag, ferrite and (3 × 1) reciprocal-space surface unit cells are represented by the black square, blue square and red rectangles, respectively.
