Figure 9
Comparison of tetrahedral distortions and tilt angles for α-quartz and GeO2. Red points: α-quartz at variable temperature (Antao, 2016BB2); blue points: GeO2 at variable temperature (Haines et al., 2002BB17); brown points: pressure-variation of α-quartz up to 10.2 GPa (Glinnemann et al., 1992BB12) [The r(+) setting according to Donnay & Le Page (1978BB9) in space group P3121 was used. An origin-shift of [ [{0,0,{1 \over 3}}]] was applied in order to generate coordinates compatible with International Tables for Crystallography (Hahn, 1995BB14)]; pink points: pressure variation of α-quartz between 10.9 and 13.1 GPa (Kim-Zajonz et al., 1999BB20) [The r(+) setting according to Donnay & Le Page (1978BB9) in space group P3121 was used with coordinates compatible with International Tables for Crystallography (Hahn, 1995BB14).]; yellow points: pressure variation of GeO2 up to 5.57 GPa (Glinnemann et al. 1992BB12).
