In (c) and (d) the Te and Mg atoms in Ln+1 are exchanged with respect to (a) and (b). In (d) and (c) the Ln and Ln+1 layers do not, in (b) and (d) they do feature orientation inversion. Note that under the idealization of equal Mg—O and Te—O distances, the oxygen substructures are identical in the (a) and (d) as well as the (b) and (c) layer pairs.
