Ground state absorption coefficients of (Er0.07Sc0.50Y0.43)2O3 in the visible and near infrared spectra range. The labels at the absorption bands denote the name of the Stark multiplet responsible for the absorption from the ground state 4I15/2. The inset shows the cross sections of the 4I15/2 → 4I11/2 ground state absorption of Er3+ in (Er0.07Sc0.50Y0.43)2O3 in comparison to the absorption of Er3+ in Sc2O3 and Y2O3.
