View down the $[[{\overline 1}01]]$ direction of [Cu(nor)₂]SO₄·7H₂O, showing the layered arrangement parallel to the (010) plane of intercalated slabs of [Cu(nor)₂]²⁺ complexes and hydrated SO₄²⁻ ions, and the hydrogen-bonding network for H⋯A < 2 Å. Layers of the same kind are symmetry-related through a twofold screw axis along the unique b axis of space group P2₁/c.
