Axial-symmetric morphing of the zb-/diamond-structure NWires growing along the [111] axis with a hexagonal cross section and six {11} interfaces. The nominal cross section for i = 5 is shown by white `ghost atoms' at the top interface and by the yellow atoms in the lower half of the cross section. Maximum reductive morphing with j1 = 4 was applied to the top interface, while morphing to maximum expansion with j2 = −(i −1) = −4 was applied to the bottom interface.
