Variations of shear strains determined from lattice parameters given in Figure 3 of Senn et al. (2015  ) for a synthetic magnetite sample with Tv ∼123 K, and in Figure 1 of Pachoud et al. (2020) for a synthetic sample with estimated composition x = 0.0228 in Fe3–xZnxO4. Pachoud et al. quoted Tv = 92 K for their sample but the discontinuity in lattice parameters occurred between 85 and 90 K in their lattice parameter data. Original lattice parameters and expressions for calculation of the strains are given in Fig. S10 and Table S4, respectively, with respect to the reference system shown in Fig. S9. Coloured dashed lines in (b), (c), (d) represent discontinuities at T ∼ Tv. |
