The polychromatic profile across each diffraction spot was achieved here by having a monochromator dispersive setting on SRS station 7.2 and rotating the rhenium-containing test crystal in that essentially monochromatic beam. The bandpass across each spot is ∼60 eV and has been set on the rhenium LIII absorption edge in this case. The largest absorption at the rhenium XANES peak is seen directly via the white lines.
