Resolution-dependence of the minimum required crystal size. All plotted calculations used VM = 2.4 Å3 Da−1 and 1 Å radiation. The Wilson B factor strongly affects the curvature of the plot of the required crystal size for a given number of photons, but applying the empirical formula shown serendipitously simplifies this analysis, as described in the text.
