The L-threonine degradation pathway. The enzyme TDH oxidizes L-threonine to 2-amino-3-ketobutyrate (AKB). KBL then converts AKB to glycine and Ac-CoA. Alternatively, AKB may undergo spontaneous breakdown to aminoacetone and carbon dioxide.
