Tightly bound interface between the γ- and α-subunits. The highly hydrophobic C-terminal tail of the γ-subunit (colored green) including Cys152 of the γ-subunit covers the contact areas like a lid at the interface. The disulfide bond between subunits is indicated by a red circle. One of the long loops of the α-subunit including α2 is colored cyan and contacts the C-terminal loop region of the γ-subunit.
