This hydrogen-bond network is present in all M-PMV PR dimers studied in this work. Water molecule Wat1 at the bottom of the active site is absolutely unprecedented among all retropepsins. The water molecules Wat2A and Wat2B that complete the hydrogen-bond pattern have partial analogs in two HIV-1 PR structures, for example PDB entry 5kr1 (b). |
