(b) Averaged spectra of C-PC obtained by CD spectroscopy buffered at pH 8.0 (20 mM Tris; blue), pH 6.5 (20 mM MES; purple) and pH 4.0 (20 mM acetate; red), indicating a nearly identical secondary structure in all three buffers. (c) Autocorrelation functions of C-PC depending on the delay time as obtained by IR-DLS indicate an increased degree of C-PC solution polydispersity and additional larger particles at pH 4.0 compared with pH 8.0 and pH 6.5.
