Line drawing of cholesterol with the three cholesterol sites in the adenosine A2A protein. The blue structure was collected at 100 K (PDB entry 6lpl) and the orange structure at 293 K (20°C). The overlay of the structures shows the remarkable similarity despite the temperature change of nearly 200°C. The green and light blue overlay demonstrates the similarity of the 100 K small-molecule (CSD code CHOEST23) and macromolecular (PDB entry 6lpl, site B) structures.
