Differential deuteriation in the thermodynamic cycle. The determined binding Kd values (mM) of melibiose or Na+ in the absence or presence of the other are presented in the binding thermodynamic cycle scheme, adapted from Fig. 6 of Hariharan & Guan (2017 ). The differential deuteriation was calculated from the deuterium uptake (D) at 30, 300 and 3000 s in two states as indicated.
