The title compound, bis(6-chloro-2-pyridinolato-N,O)(4,4'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine-N,N')zinc(II), [Zn(C₁₂H₁₂N₂)(C₅H₃ClNO)₂].H₂O, is an example of a pyridonate complex of zinc. The complex has a distorted geometry imposed by the narrow bite angles of the ligands.
