inorganic compounds
The three-dimensionnal network structure of the title compound (arsenic caesium vanadium oxide) comprises VO5 pyramids and (As,V)2O7 groups sharing corners to form puckered layers. The layers are linked to each other by chains of VO6 octahedra. The framework exhibits large tunnels, parallel to the b axis interconnected with other smaller tunnels, parallel to the c axis. The Cs+ ions are located at the intersections of these tunnels. Cs2V3(As0.635V0.365)4O17 is isostructural with Cs2V3P4O17 [Lii, Wang & Wang (1989). J. Solid State Chem. 80, 127-132].
