As part of experiments directed towards the preparation of porphyrin derivatives of the main group elements, the title compound, [Sn(C₄₄H₂₄Cl₄N₄)(C₃H₅O₂)₂].CH₂Cl₂, crystallized as deep red crystals from dichloromethane.
