Aminoguanidinium Squarate

The structure determination of the amino-guanidinium salt of 3,4-dihydroxy-3-cyclobutene-1,2-dione, 2CH₇N₄⁺.C₄O₄^2-, was undertaken as part of a project investigating optical properties of new classes of organic compounds involving salts of optically active amino acids, optically active amines and guanidine derivatives with squaric acids as well as its sulfur derivatives.
