Would you find it helpful to have more tools available to help you choose referees? E.g. a reviewer pool/board
#Response DateIf yes, please suggest any tools or services that might be useful to you
Mar 17, 2011 1:09 PMA reviewer pool with specialties of the reviewers.
Mar 16, 2011 12:46 PMA central data base of able potential 'quality controlled' referees would be of use.
Mar 16, 2011 3:49 AMSome internal database where the co-editors can share experiences with the referees
Mar 15, 2011 11:26 AMA central record of reviewers - principal purpose being to see if a potential reviewer is already "used" frequently by another co-editor, to avoid multiple independent invitations.
Mar 15, 2011 11:15 AMnot aware of such tools
Mar 15, 2011 8:52 AMReviewer pool
Mar 15, 2011 5:31 AMa reviewer pool
Mar 15, 2011 4:43 AMI only use the few people whom I know, with some either not obliging, or becoming unavailable.
Mar 15, 2011 1:41 AMthe reviewer lists may be helpful, but it may cause excessive duty on a few listed reviewers.
Mar 14, 2011 11:20 PMa reviewer pool
Mar 14, 2011 11:20 PMMaybe a reviewer pool...
Mar 14, 2011 8:01 PMReviewer pool
Mar 14, 2011 6:58 PMperhaps a list of referee volunteers?
Mar 14, 2011 6:56 PMA reviewer pool would be helpful.
Mar 14, 2011 5:51 PMI would find useful to have the database of referees/subjects. What I would really appreciate is the service regarding the chemical names. I rely on a colleague of mine who is an organic chemist and in more complicated cases on Dr. Kahovec who is the member of IUPAC commission on chemical names. I must admit that usually I do not ask the referees (except the chemical names) for help. The reason is that anyway no referee would recalculate the structure, so my insight is deeper. The articles are usually of such a quality that it is meaningless to ask other colleagues for help; it would kill their time. And it is also my experience that most people do the refereeing quite reluctantly. In some cases where I find some chemical or structural problems I ask the colleagues for advice.
Mar 14, 2011 4:55 PMAs Acta E coeditor, I do not use referees, but do it all myself
Mar 14, 2011 3:53 PMA reviewer pool is no different to the editorial board.
Mar 14, 2011 3:46 PMList of Acta authors with number of papers published in the last three years.
Mar 14, 2011 3:15 PMreviewer pool some type of keyword search that automatically suggests upon submission people publishing related work.
Mar 14, 2011 2:55 PM??
Mar 14, 2011 2:23 PMNot aware of any
Mar 14, 2011 2:06 PMI usually don't ask for a referee (Acta E) but it would be useful to be able to find one easily if the need arose
Mar 14, 2011 1:58 PM?
Mar 14, 2011 1:51 PMrewiewer/pool board
Mar 14, 2011 1:49 PMAt the moment, I have no clear idea
Mar 14, 2011 1:45 PMreviewer pool with the scope of interest for every person
Mar 14, 2011 1:41 PMnot really applicable to Acta E
Mar 14, 2011 1:35 PMsee above
Mar 14, 2011 1:34 PMA simple list with names of willing "victims" would be enough.
Mar 14, 2011 1:33 PMI use the Web of Science to track down suitable referees.
Mar 14, 2011 1:32 PMMore knowledge of the exact areas of research of potential referees
