IUCrJ

Dear Colleague

On behalf of IUCr Journals and the staff at the IUCr in Chester, we are writing to thank you for your invaluable contribution to the journals in your role as reviewer.

Effective peer review is crucial for the scientific community. We greatly appreciate the important role you play in the publication of accurate peer-reviewed material. Your efforts have allowed us to publish nearly 12000 pages and 2500 articles in the year.

To express our gratitude, we should like to offer you the following:

  • A voucher for 20% discount on the open-access fees for publication of an article in any IUCr Journal. Your discount voucher code is dis-repLRcWrN0PMPJjzNOo, which is valid until 1 July 2017.

In 2016, we carried out a short survey of reviewers to look at how we could improve recognition and rewards for reviewers, and also how we could make the review process more effective and efficient. Over 500 reviewers took part in the survey; results of the survey can be downloaded here. The survey was very helpful for us, and we will be gradually adopting a number of the ideas from the survey.

Seasons greetings and best wishes for a happy and prosperous 2017!
