EBSD map of copper lines with a `bamboo-like' structure. The conventions for the colours of the boundaries are the same as that of Fig. 10[link]. The TRDs are reconstructed by ignoring only the Σ3 and Σ9 boundaries. The two `assumed' TRDs in purple and green in the square on the bottom left part of the image (reported with higher magnification in the upper right part of the figure) are separated by Σ81 and higher-order Σ3n operators. For one part of the boundary, the rotations are R23 = (59.3°, [[\bar1]10]), R31 = (38.1°, [[\bar1\bar41]]) and R21 = (43.2°, [[4\bar1\bar1]]). These are close to the Σ3, Σ81b and Σ35g operators, respectively. Their composition verifies the groupoid composition Table 3[link]. The same verification was done along the whole boundary. We conclude that these two TRDs are in fact only one TRD.
