In the paper by Livet [Acta Cryst. (2007), A63, 63–87 ], equation (15) is incorrect. The correct equation is

$[\beta(z) = \left\{\textstyle\sum\limits_{n = 0}^{\infty} (-1){}^n 2^{2n+2}z^{2n}/[(2n+1)(2n+2){}^2(2n+1)!]\right\}^2.\eqno(15)]$
