(a) SAED and (b) a montage of 17 D-LACBED patterns taken from [[1{\overline 1}0]] silicon. Highlighted reflections in the SAED pattern are forbidden and would have zero intensity without multiple scattering. Part (c) shows the 002 D-LACBED pattern at a large angle from the zone axis and it is clear that the intensity does indeed drop to zero. The whole-pattern symmetry is 2mm and the projection diffraction group is 2mm1R.
