Experimental Compton scattering results from GaFeO3. The total electron momentum distribution (Compton profile) is shown in blue, normalized such that the integral is the total number of electrons in the unit cell (eight GaFeO3 formula units). The red bars show the antisymmetric Compton profile derived from the difference in Compton profiles measured with opposite magnetic field directions. Error bars are shown in black. Also shown on the plot is the calculated antisymmetric profile, convoluted with a Gaussian of width 0.8 a.u., to mimic the experimental momentum resolution. Note that, although the calculated and measured line shapes look similar, the experimental differences are of the same order as the statistical errors (error bars), and that the measurements are scaled by an order of magnitude compared to the calculations.
