The point at each curve marks an energy such that, for a crystal thickness 20 µm and distance to detector 1 m, the width of the beam diffracted from the bent crystal is equal to the width of the first Fresnel zone. The Fraunhofer approximation is applicable, under these conditions, for energies smaller than the marked energy (see Section 5[link] for details).
