In the RTAB database (Kissel, 2000

) the buildup of the atomic form factor is based on summing the contributions from atomic shells defined by the principal quantum number n. The figure displays the contributions from $[n\in[3,6]]$ in the case of lead (Pb, Z = 82). An ordinate window of $[\pm 1.0]$ is chosen to emphasize the oscillating behaviour.
