Inverse FOM surface (1/R values) within the (y, V) plane for x = 0.5 for 2D scan using all seven patterns (a) and (b) 3D search with five high-index patterns. The sharp peak at the volume of 830 Å3 corresponding to the best solution found is marked by red arrows. More solutions will emerge with increase in volume. The correct solution should have a high prominence at reasonably low volume values.
