Plot of isosurfaces of the aNCI between (a) ibuprofen and (b) sila-ibuprofen, and the neighbouring molecules in the crystal. Blue-coloured isosurfaces refer to attractive (electrostatic) interactions, whereas green refer to weaker (dispersion) interactions. Neighbouring molecules are colour coded also, i.e. PEA has orange bonds and ibuprofen/sila-ibuprofen have purple bonds. Atoms were given the same colour code as the main molecule. The visualization was made using VMD (Humphrey et al., 1996BB22). Corresponding representations of the NCI in the static crystal structures of ibuprofen–PEA and sila-ibuprofen–PEA are given in the supporting information.
