An ORTEP plot (Johnson et al., 1972BB12) of the room-temperature CTA structure in the plane perpendicular to the b axis. Split alkaline positions are shown by the Cs1–Cs3 and Cs2–Cs4 pairs, and all atoms are given as 99% probability displacement ellipsoids. The elongated ellipsoid of Cs4 indicates that this additional site comprises several positions that cannot be individually resolved [symmetry codes: (ii) [{3 \over 2}]x, y − ½, z − ½; (iv) ½ + x, [{3 \over 2}]y, z; (vii) 1 − x, 1 − y, z− ½; (viii) [{3 \over 2}]x, ½ + y, z− ½].
