H atoms have been omitted for clarity. The dimeric entities are distributed between two different continuously hydrogen-bonded layers formed in the crystal which are centered at x = 0 and x = 1. At the inter­face between the layers (at x = [{1 \over 2}]), the diphenyl­methyl embraces provide the stabilizing van der Waals inter­action.
