Taking the Sn2—O3iii bond of 2.726 (3) Å (thick dashed lines) into account, tetra­meric Sn4O12 clusters are formed and the formerly described chains are connected to form layers in the ab plane. The positions of lone pairs are indicated by the narrow voids between the opposing Sn12+ ions. Hydrogen bonds are shown as thin dashed lines.
