Overlay of the crystal structures of the anhydrate form II (blue in the electronic version of the paper) and the methanol­ate (red) of clarithromycin. The structures are isomorphous. The methanol mol­ecules in the methanol­ate structure (shown in space-filling style) correspond to voids in the anhydrate. H atoms have been omitted for clarity.
