The π-stacking inter­actions between the rings within a layer are dominated by so-called nearly parallel-displaced inter­actions, while the inter­actions between them are based on edge-to-face inter­actions between the rings. Hydrogen bonds between the carboxyl­ate and ammonium group contribute to the stacking.
