Residue names and heteroatoms are labelled on mol­ecules A and B. The phenyl rings of D-Phe protrude along the long axis of the peptide mol­ecule, except for D-Phe9C. No inter­molecular hydrogen bond is formed between atoms N11C and O82C, and the turn structure of D-Phe9–Pro10 in mol­ecule C is not classed as any β-turn type. The side chains of Leu8B and Leu2C are disordered. Displacement ellipsoids are drawn at the 50% probability level. Side views are shown in Fig. S4 in the supporting information.
