The stepped one-dimensional hy­dro­gen-bonded chain formed by O—H⋯O and N—H⋯I contacts in [(ACT)2H][I3]. A similar chain motif is present in [(ACT)2H][BF4], but here the steps caused by the linear I3− anion are absent.
