Adhesive expansion during preconditioning. Plot of the increase in drop size over time of the `Type A' adhesive upon hydration at 99.8% RH. Calculations were performed via the HC1 control software (Sanchez-Weatherby et al., 2009  ) and adhesive images are shown from selected time points. The lower right picture displays a holoferritin crystal successfully harvested after preconditioning the `Type A' adhesive for 60 min. The scale bars represent 200 µm. |
