(a) A grid adaptor with a standard microplate footprint allows grids to be positioned in the plate position of liquid-handling robots, including the ARI Gryphon and the Labcyte Echo 550 liquid handler. A neoprene-lined torsion clip (black) grips the magnetic base and holds the grid in position. (b) The grid is indexed against two metal surfaces that protrude from the adaptor to ensure that the ports are correctly positioned.
