(a) Illustration of partial helical symmetry on an HI3D lattice plot for EMDB entry EMD-43868. (b) A paired scatter plot of map resolutions resulted from using the deposited helical parameters (x axis) and the validated helical parameters (y axis). The resolution was based on the 0.143 criterion for the Fourier shell correlation of half-maps symmetrized with a helical parameter set. Each point represents one of the 38 EMDB entries found to use partial helical symmetries in the deposited metadata.
