Determination of the heat of dissolution (ΔHdiss) of erythritol using a simple but effective calorimetry device. The evolution of the temperature of the erythritol solution over time makes it possible to estimate, by extrapolation, the value of the temperature change ΔT and ΔHdiss. The endothermic nature of the dissolution of erythritol is clearly demonstrated by the rapid temperature drop of the solution.
