15% SDS–PAGE gel showing purified P. aeruginosa CobE (lane 2) and the same protein after cleavage of the His6 tag (lane 3). The low-molecular-weight markers are shown (lane 1; values in kDa). There are some minor higher molecular-weight contaminants visible on this highly loaded gel, but the purity of CobE is at least 99% and the protein sample was successfully used for crystallization.
