A stereoimage illustrating the assembly of 39 superimposed monomers with a β-trefoil topology oriented along a pseudo-threefold. The component monomers in the assembly were selected from the PDB based on structural similarity to the idealized lectin ThreeFoil. This set of molecules was included in calculations of the average molecular electron density used as a template in the MR searches. Monomers shown in this figure are represented by Cα coils; however, for the electron-density calculations all atoms were included. A complete list of the PDB entries contributing to this assembly is given in Supplementary Table S1. |
