New basis vectors are chosen such that a* = b*′, b* = a*′ + c*′, c* = a*′ − c*′. The reader will note that the new Miller indices are given by h = k′, k = (h′ + l′)/2, l = (h′ − l′)/2. The matrix transforming the Miller indices is the inverse transpose of the matrix transforming the basis vectors.
