Guinier approximations (dashed lines) with Rg values of 15.0, 15.2, and 15.7 Å for the SAXS data from 21 mg ml−1 lysozyme in a buffer solution at pH 2.9, with 0, 0.03, and 0.1 M NaCl added. The inset shows the good overlap of the SAXS data (normalized to concentration C) for the three sample solutions with 21, 14, and 7 mg ml−1 lysozyme in the same buffer solution with 0.1 M NaCl. These sets of data are fitted (dashed curve) with the same ellipsoid form factor. For comparison, SAXS data for 21 mg ml−1 lysozyme in pure water show a prominent interference peak in the low-Q region.
